Michael Christofas is a professional photographer and photographic artist widely recognised for his environmental portraiture, commercial media, and community arts projects across Australia. His work focuses on capturing human stories creating authentic and impactful imagery. Deeply influenced by his Greek and Kastellorizian heritage, his photography embodies a strong sense of community and humanity.

Among his key initiatives is a prominent collaborative project featuring portraits of Australian service personnel and veteran artists to promote well-being through the arts; an effort honoured by the Governor-General of Australia in 2023. His imagery has been featured in major national exhibitions, including the Percival Photographic Portrait Prize where he was a finalist in both 2024 and 2026.

His family has a long history with the KAV, and his parents, Peter and Kathy Christofas, have been involved with the Kazzie Club for decades.

His Kastellorizian roots trace back to his grandparents, Efsthathios and Glykeria Christofis (née Kiosoglou) on his father’s side, and Maria Patrikiou (née Peretzis) on his mother’s side. Michael is carrying on a rich family legacy with the Kastellorizian Association of Victoria, following in the footsteps of his dad. Peter served on the main committee during the 1980's and, up until recently, as treasurer on the seniors committee for many years. Michael joined the KAV committee in 2025, where he led the redevelopment of the association’s website and membership CRM.
