Peter Coates is an accomplished business executive, entrepreneur and community leader with more than 40 years' experience in interior design, manufacturing, international sourcing and business leadership. Throughout his career he has founded and led several successful Australian businesses, including Ironworks and Finehouse International, and has been recognised for innovation and design excellence, including receiving the Furniture Industry Association of Australia National New Product Parade Award for Excellence. Earlier in his career, as Creative Director of Robertsons, Peter led the design of prestigious projects both locally and international.

A member of the Kastellorizian Association of Victoria for more than 40 years, Peter has served the Association as Secretary, Treasurer and Vice President, and currently serves as a Committee Member. He is part of the team overseeing the redevelopment of the Association's historic South Melbourne building, helping guide the renovation while supporting the Committee's long-term vision for the KAV.

Beyond the Association, Peter is a Founding Member of the Probus Club of Mentone, a long-standing member and former Board Director of the Rotary Club of Kew, where he was awarded the Paul Harris Fellow for outstanding community service, and is an active member of the Music Team at Mentone Uniting Church.
